For generations, women have formed the central structure of the Christian Church. Even when they were being kept out of the pulpit or positions of authority, they were the ones who were called upon to feed, heal, clothe, and care for the community at large. The Church would not be what it is today without the bravery of those women who came before us who refused to be silenced and claimed their rightful place in the Body of Christ. But new research shows that younger women are leaving organized churches in record numbers. What might this mean for the future of God’s Church on earth? And what should we be trying to do about it?
