In many communities there is a desire to make this phrase more visible in public spheres in an effort to regain ground that is perceived to have been taken from Christianity. Arguably the most influential section of the Christian Bible is the letters of Paul. These writings have had incalculable influence on western thinking. From starting reformations, to upholding and dismantling slavery, to full participation of the LGBTQ+ community in the Christian faith, Paul’s letters have been used on all sides of all of these arguments. But is that what they were intended for?
